A More Excellent Way
It has been said of me that I will run out of time before I run out of ideas. Likewise, it has been said that I have always been able to find inspiration and creativity to pursue an idea…
Men Grow Bored While Shopping
A study conducted by an organization in the United Kingdom confirms what men and women everywhere already knew to be true. The conclusion of this study, which examined whether men get bored while shopping, may not have surprised most. However, the speed…
McConnell Finally Retires from the Senate
When Senator Mitch McConnell first announced that he would not be running for reelection, I must admit that my reaction was one of relief and borderline excitement. I admittedly have strong feelings about the senator from Kentucky. In spite of the fact that he and I have the same political party registration, I do not believe we hold all of the same convictions and values. Not everyone shares my opinion, but I am quite happy that we soon will no longer have to deal with him in Congress…
Woman Worships Shrek Statue, Thinking It’s Buddha
In a special April Fool’s Day edition of the Daily Report, we are reminded to be careful not to confuse one’s god with a fictional animated ogre. A woman in the Philippines did just that when she bought a green statue at a local store, thinking it was a statue of Buddha…
Missions Emphasis and Full House Sunday a Success
Yesterday was a highlight of the year for the Immanuel Baptist Church. While we have enjoyed great days in 2025, our Missions Emphasis Sunday—also called Full House Sunday—was an exciting and spiritually successful Sunday…
“Because Of” or “In Spite Of”

Paul wrote in his final letter…I have finished my course,…These are remarkable words of which we often do not appreciate the full significance…
Pause
I am writing this week’s newsletter from an undisclosed location. It is not as mysterious as it sounds; I am just spending a week away with my wife and two younger daughters. This week is spring break for our schools, so we are taking advantage of it with a little time away as a family. As I write this, I am sitting alone in a hotel lobby early in the morning…
UN Advocates for Forcing Doctors To Murder Unborn Children
In a not-so-shocking report, the United Nations is advocating for governments to force medical personnel to perform abortions. The pro-life group CFAM had this to say about the announcement:
“In a report published this week, the UN working group on discrimination against women and girls claims that governments have an international obligation to force all hospitals to provide abortions, including religious hospitals. The report goes as far as describing institutional conscientious objection as ‘impermissible’ and a ‘human rights violation.’”
Murdering Psychopath Granted Supervised Release
A killer has been granted release from a maximum-security psychiatric hospital and moved to a more community-based setting. Tyree Smith—who killed his victim, Angel Gonzales, with a hatchet and ate parts of his body—was found not guilty by reason of insanity…
Be Like Jesus (Or Not Really)
“Be like Jesus” is the mantra of many Christians today—except when it comes to helping sinners. The poor treatment of the fallen is justified through unscriptural practices and pronouncements of judgment by these modern-day “elder brothers.” Their warnings, plus their unwillingness to participate in that in which Jesus participated, reveal their unspiritual lives (Galatians 6:1)…
